Important information for casting your vote
Community Union, as a Labour party affiliated trade union, is participating in the Labour Party leadership ballot. Members that contribute to the political fund will receive ballot papers with their copy of the Autumn edition of the Community Union magazine, ‘Stronger Together’. The magazine will be put in the post at the beginning of September, so it should reach you shortly.
The Labour leadership ballot offers our members the opportunity to shape the labour party for the next decade. Their choice will help elect a new leader to combat Clegg and Cameron. Their choice will oppose the cuts and offer an alternate plan to revitalise the economy and bring jobs back.
Community Union has taken the decision to endorse David Miliband as the next leader of the Labour Party. David has shown considerable commitment to our issues and has the knowledge and experience to be an effective leader. The Community magazine contains both an endorsement of David from the General Secretary and a note direct to members from David Miliband.
Use Your Vote
On the ballot you can number the candidates in order of preference from 1 to 5. We are recommending you put David Miliband as number 1.

Members in London also get a vote to choose Labour's London Mayoral candidate. Community is endorsing Oona King as we believe she represents the fresh start and new direction needed to beat the Tories.
The Ballot closes on September 21st
To vote online, members should visit votebyinternet.com/communitylabour2010 and enter the two part security code printed upon the ballot paper.
A strong showing from Community members guarantees that our concerns will be heard by the future Labour leader.
