Letter from National Officer for Steel Roy Rickhuss to Corus Director of Industrial Relations Barry Patrick over bonus payments.
The letter confirms that Corus will pay Q3 and Q4 bonus payments based on existing agreements.
Dear Barry
Thank you for your email of today timed at 10.35am.
Our discussion was in the context of your invitation to withdraw the current employment tribunal (ET) proceedings where there is a Directions Hearing at 3.00pm today.
On the basis of your confirmation that Q3 bonus is to be paid in the January pay round and Q4 will be paid based on existing agreement, we are prepared to withdraw the ET and would be grateful if you could confirm you will advise your Solicitor accordingly before the hearing.
I should point out however, that if there is no satisfactory agreement reached in relation to the bonus from April 2010 as indicated in your email the Unions will not hesitate to bring fresh proceedings in the ET on the same basis as the current proceedings in respect of any failure to apply existing agreements which we say continue to apply pending any new agreement.
Can you please confirm that you have notified your Solicitor.
