Community takes Glencraft to First Minister


First Minister Alex Salmond yesterday angered scores of protestors from Aberdeen after he turned up to meet with them, long after most of them had gone away. Protestors where outside Holyrood campaigning against the City Council £27 million budget cuts.

The protestors who made the 240-mile trip where also there to support Aberdeen Central Labour MSP, Lewis Macdonald, who was leading a debate on the city council’s “precarious” financial position later that day.

Campaigners, included parents and representatives from Choices, Grampian Senior Citizens forum, Glencraft and Labour Councillor’s.

 

Glencraft Community Trade Union Shop Steward Andrew Laing said;

I believe that with the relentless work my Trade Union Community has shown, the determination of the workforce and Aberdeen people, the excellent support of Labour party MSP’s and Councillors we will over turn this barbaric decision and secure a sustainable future for the present workers of Glencarft and many generations to come.
