Community represents the interests of our members at a local and national level. But in a globalising world, jobs and companies move across borders quickly. This requires unions to work together across borders to protect the fundamental rights of all members.
European Trade Union Federation - Textiles, Clothing & Leather
The ETUC:TCL is the European trade union federation that represents over 1 million workers across Europe.
Since 1975, ETUF:TCL has represented the interests of workers in the Textiles, Clothing and Leather industries in European Institutions (Presidency, Council, Parliament and Commission).
The goal of ETUF:TCL is to ensure cooperation between all the member organisations to promote the social, economic and cultural interests of workers in these industries.
International Textile, Garment & Leather Workers' Federation
The ITGLWF unites workers across the global in an effort to prevent violence and abuse and to fight for a living wage.
The IGTLWF works to;
- develop codes of conduct to protect the workers in these industries,
- stop the use of child labour in these industries,
- organising and defending workers rights,
- recognising the majority of workers in these industries are women and addressing their issues,
- addressing the AIDS epidemic amongst textile, garment and leather workers across the globe
