The Mary Macarthur Education Trust

Education grant offers to women of 20 and over

The Mary Macarthur Educational Trust offers grants to non-graduate women, especially those who since leaving school have taken part in courses and done voluntary work, including trade union courses and voluntary trade union work.

The scholarships are in memory of Mary Macarthur, Emma Patterson, Lady Dilke and Jessie Stephen, pioneers of trade unionism.

Four scholarships, of about £900, are offered for women who gain a place at one of the Adult Residential Colleges named below, for an academic year of study and residence in the College. Once you get a place, you can apply for one of the scholarships through the College or direct to the Trust address below.

Other grants are also made towards costs of study on other courses such as part-time, weekend or summer courses in the UK e.g. to help with books, travel or child minding.
