Dear Colleagues
Just a big thank you for letting me and my partner go to the convalescent home in Dawlish. I needed a break after the operation I had just had. Community could not do enough for me, they were at an end off the phone to help in any way they could.
The convalescent home in Dawlish is the only one in the country that caters for people like myself, who need somewhere to go and get away for a week or two to heal and rest. There is a nurse on call at any time of the day if needed and a doctor a few yards away on call at any time day or night if needed. The house was well equipped, books to read and relax, a games room for those that were able to play snooker, or other types of games to keep your mind off of other things. They have a numbers of TV around the floors and in TV rooms.
I was impressed with the size of the house, the staff were helpful and the meals were great. I had to have put on 2 stone.
The grounds were also well looked after pity it was cold it would have been nice to sit out in the gardens it would be lovely in the summer .The place, Dawlish itself is lovely, not to busy, no need to rush anywhere. A nice walk in the park watching the swans and ducks in the lake, very relaxing coffee shops around the lake. As I was unable to walk far, Dawlish was the ideal place for me.
Just a big thanks to Community for thinking off their members.
P/S The convalescent home is publicly run and they need all the help they can get to keep functioning. We need some type of home for our Members to go and recover. I would like to see all unions and the government to help run the only convalescent home left in Britain
Yours Sincerely
JAMES TUCKER
