Community operates a Free Legal Advice Service (FLAS).
FLAS can help members with a wide range of legal queries, such as consumer issues, neighbour disputes, welfare benefits and housing matters.
FLAS deals with members' queries on an individual basis. Many queries can be resolved at the first point of contact. On those occasions where FLAS cannot resolve the issue at that time, it may be necessary for the issue to be researched with a view to returning to the member as quickly as possible. There may also be other times where, due to the complex or specialised nature of the member’s query, a referral to a dedicated outside agency or advisory service will be appropriate.
At present, FLAS has two legal advisers:
Kelly Hale
Kelly is a law graduate and legal executive with over 4 years experience having previously worked in private practice dealing with a mixed caseload of civil litigation, family and probate matters and more recently for the Crown Prosecution Service dealing with criminal matters
Laura Carter
Laura is a law graduate and has completed the Legal Practice Course. Laura has a wide knowledge base and has closely studied civil litigation, family law, probate and business law.
