Members may remember that in early 2008, the first issue of Corus Community warned of Corus’ determination to attack the pension scheme.

Members may also remember Corus’ loud denials.

There were ‘no plans to change the scheme as it has been managed well’ said Corus.

Yet now Corus are undermining the scheme by closing it to new entrants. This is the thin end of the wedge.

But the Pension Scheme is strong. It is healthier than many other schemes and can provide retirement benefits to those who have contributed to the scheme throughout their working life.
