The BUSWE Myth
It would appear as though there has been a fundamental misunderstanding amongst NSPCC employees that BUSWE is a union exclusively for social workers. This has never been the case, just look behind the initials:
British Union of Social Work EMPLOYEES. This means anyone working within a social care organisation. Whilst the NSPCC has changed its remit to increasing its campaigning arm, it nevertheless firmly remains in the world of social care and thus our aims were always contingent with the organisation. After BUSWE members resounding vote in favour of joining with Community we can now all benefit from the union’s expertise in organising and representing workers in a variety of sectors and a from a diversity of backgrounds.
BUSWE/COMMUNITY is for ALL employees of the NSPCC.
