Community seeks commitmments from Corus
Community has discussed the situation at Trostre with Philippe Varin, CEO of Corus.
Community saught assurances from Mr Varin that Corus are willing to work with the union to ensure that Trostre has a sustainable future.
The Unions belive that the 3 major plants in South Wales must engage with each other on a range of issues. These include delivery, quality and pricing to ensure a stable and prosperous future for the Steel Industry in South Wales.
At the Strip trade Board on Tuesday 29th April, Roy Rickhuss, National Officer Community saught assurance that:
"the copmpany would deliver on its commitment to look after the individuals affected by the restructuring and ensure that closer links are established between the major steel plants in South Wales"
Mr Rickhuss has stated that he believes that management responded positively to these requests.
