Minister for Sport, Gerry Sutcliffe MP, today praised the Community Union campaign for safer betting shops. Speaking at a fringe event during the Labour Party Conference in Brighton, the Minister reiterated his support for the campaign.
Community Union General Secretary Michael J Leahy said:
“Government support is vital in this campaign to make high street betting shops safer. The companies have stood back and done nothing as levels of verbal and physical abuse against staff have increased. Continued support from the government will allow Community Union to continue our campaign for safer betting shops.”
