Community has a strong history of supporting Women in the workplace. Community has worked hard for equal pay and promotion prospects, freedom from harassment and discrimination and access to maternity leave and childcare.
Community is determined to carry this tradition out into the wider community.
Community sends delegates to the annual Trade Union Congress Women’s conference. The Conference is an important venue to discuss the issues facing women, not just in the workplace but in the community, and not just in Britain but globally. If you are interested in participating in the TUC conference, or in any other union activity please contact your union or speak to your branch secretary.
Community doesn’t just preach these values. Community has 3 dedicated seats for women on its National Executive Council, and has elected women to the presidency of the union.
