Community supported our members at Glencraft through a 9 month campaign to keep their jobs
The future of Glencraft has been secured.
After 9 months of campaigning the Aberdeen branch are celebrating. Aberdeen branch are happy to announce that after a long and hard campaign a successful outcome has been reached to secure the employment of the entire workforce.
Over these troubled months the management and board of Glencraft have been working on a business plan that finally on 5th December 2008 was approved by Aberdeen City Council. This secures the future of Glencraft.
The Aberdeen branch would like to thank everyone who signed our petition and who joined us at March/Rally on Union Street , especially in April when the weather was awful. I would also like to thank all Community Union members, Regional and National Officials and in particular John Steele for whose persistence, advice and constant attention helped us through a difficult and sometime frustrating few months.
We would also like to thank all the MP’s, MSP’s, and local councillors who supported us at this difficult time.
Regards,
