Parliamentary Links
The Union has formal links through an agreement with Constituencies with the following MPs:

- John Mann - Bassetlaw
- David Cairns - Inverclyde and Greenock
- Dr Hywel Francis - Aberavon
- Pat McFadden - Wolverhampton South East
- Gareth Thomas - Harrow West
- Tom Blenkinsop - Middlesbrough South & East Cleveland
In addition, in the Scottish Parliament we have an agreement with:

In addition we have relationships in the Welsh Assembly with:

Locally
- The Union encourages all members to join the Labour Party and to become active
- The Union encourages all branches to affiliate to their local Labour Party and to participate in relevant community campaigns
- We encourage and support active members to stand for elections as Councilors and other community roles such as School Governor.
Parliamentary Panel
The Union has recently set up a Parliamentary Panel and encourages active members to apply in order to support the maximum number of our members who wish to pursue a political career, and to support and promote the Union's policies in their Constituencies and in Parliament.
