National Steel Workers' Association Engineering and Labour League

Formed in 1888 in or around Middlesbrough before moving into the works at Sheffield, little of the histroy of this union has been preserved. It’s General Secretary was George Beadle. The union backed federation in 1912 and was one of the three founding members of the confederation in 1917. It was also the first to fully subsume itself within the federation in 1917, as it was financially strained.
