Community Union back long-time member Edwina Hart for Welsh Labour Leader

Community Union announced today that it would be supporting long-time Community Union member Edwina Hart AM for the position of Welsh Assembly Labour leader.

Community Union General Secretary Michael J. Leahy said:

“While it will be great to see Edwina become the first female First Minister if successful, our decision was influenced more by the energy, dedication and ability to get things done that Edwina has shown as a Community member to her fellow members, their local communities and Wales as a whole.

“As Finance Minister, Minister for Local Government and Social Justice, and now as Health Minister, Edwina has delivered for the people of Wales. A strong Wales requires both a strong economy and a strong society, Edwina has made sure that balancing these requirements has protected the most vulnerable and built a better future for all.”
